Group of us visited for a Birthday celebration. The staff are extremely attentive and the food is amazing. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals which were very generous and filling. Thank you for making this birthday a memorable day.

Food and staff were exceptional! I didn't get the lovely young girls name who was working but she was so happy, kind and attentive and a real credit to the team. Food was lovely, my mum had the steak ciabatta (which she tends to get a lot when she goes to a pub) and she said this was the best one she ever had! Highly recommend!!

I recently dined at The Green Dragon and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the warm ambience and friendly staff made us feel right at home. Let's talk about the food - absolutely fantastic! Each dish we ordered was bursting with flavors and beautifully presented. The ingredients were fresh, and it was evident that a lot of care and attention went into the preparation. Every bite was a culinary delight whether it was the perfectly seared steak or the flavorful vegetarian pasta. Now, onto the service - impeccable. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, and they were more than happy to accommodate our special requests. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations, further enhancing our dining experience. Overall, I can't recommend The Green Dragon enough. Whether looking for a romantic dinner or a casual meal with friends, this place ticks all the boxes. The combination of delicious food and exceptional service truly makes it stand out. I'll definitely be returning soon!

Great first time visit! Service was impeccable. Very welcoming and friendly team. Sunday lunch excellent - thank goodness we booked because it’s very popular! Incredibly dog friendly and as a result, we were able to relax. Lovely part of the Forest. 🌳 Be mindful that the car park gets very busy. We would go back and highly recommend.

The most perfect family get together from the start. Had our own room to celebrate my dads 80th with such a friendly welcome. The staff were so attentive and helpful, the menu catered for everyone with lots of dishes l had never tried before and the whole pub was relaxed when a lovely atmosphere. We felt really special. Thank you so much xxx Vegetarian options: Lots of dishes l would like to try even though l eat meat.

The chap that welcomed us was absolutely awesome and so positively happy, the food was amazing with one of the best cray fish prawn starters you can buy. The special casserole was so rich and tasty and my friends ribs were enormous and so well cooked. As detractors there was little choice of non alcoholic beer ( only 2 lager choices) no Guinness or IPA choices at all. The ladies were much more surly and less welcoming than the chap that sat us down and took the order which was an absolute shame.

We really enjoyed our visit, stayed at Forest Lodge across the road and came with our young kids for dinner. Despite there being quite a few things off the menu, the service was great, really friendly staff, and the food was excellent. Loved the wide choice of kids meals. Also felt the wine was really good value. Great pub layout too with lots of different areas. Will hopefully be back

Nice atmosphere. Excellent food. Easy to park. Would have given a 5 star but service not quite there. Forgot the jug of water requested and tricky to get attention when more drinks required and they won’t serve you at bar. The food was beautifully presented, very tasty and few more unusual dishes available. The decaf coffee was fine but the other coffees were very bitter and strong and were left by the members of our party who had ordered them. Vegetarian options: Lentil Dahl was delicious. Cauliflower steak available but rather bland

Good food, parked up overnight in a large grass camp field £15 per night, staff friendly, quiet night sleep in our motorhome, the field a bit lumpy but we park on the hard standing. Lovely walks in the forest.

Five minutes off the A31, The Green Dragon is a very worthwhile alternative to your average service station, mid-journey stop off! We stopped in for lunch on the way back from the coast and I’m so glad I took the time to find this alternative. It was a slightly damp, mid week stop so the pub wasn’t too busy and the garden wasn’t usable (but it looked like it would be lovely on a better day!), so it was a little quite in side but it did mean there was tables available. On a better day, booking in advance might be advisable to avoid disappointment! They had a good choice of beers and the food was very good, one of the better ploughman’s I have had in a while! There was plenty of parking available to the rear/side. Staff could have been a little more friendly and welcoming but where efficient and polite. If you’re passing through the New Forest on the A31, don’t settle for the usual bland services, take a minors detour and enjoy the local hospitality, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!
